Blake works on a broad array of civil litigation matters with an emphasis on policyholder insurance recovery. His clients include contractors and property owners involved in seeking coverage for environmental or construction-related claims, as well as other businesses in disputes with insurance carriers.
Blake has previously worked in a variety of practice areas in a Portland law firm specializing in civil litigation. Blake’s experience includes insurance subrogation, insurance defense, construction defect, insurance coverage analysis, third-party workers’ compensation recoveries, real property disputes, and other areas of general civil litigation.
Aided contractor in obtaining contributions from multiple insurers for negotiated settlement of construction defect claims arising out of installation of roof on a multi-unit apartment complex, despite insurers’ assertions of numerous exclusions of coverage.
Assisted in securing defense and indemnity coverage for insurer under professional liability policy for claims involving alleged wrongful transfer of funds in bankruptcy proceedings.
Contributed to multiple briefs submitted to the Oregon Court of Appeals and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit covering a variety of legal matters, including reimbursement of defense costs and the recovery of settlement funds.
