Paul A. Mockford

Overview

Paul is a partner in the firm’s insurance recovery group, monetizing liability and first-party insurance for people, businesses, and governments. Paul has unlocked policies covering a wide range of risks, industries, and professions. When he can, Paul solves problems without litigation. But he is also ready to litigate:  Paul has obtained summary judgment for clients on a number of liability and first-party claims, in state and federal courts, and prevailed on appeals to the Ninth Circuit and the Oregon Court of Appeals.

Born and raised in Portland, Paul is committed to helping policyholders in the Northwest. He has been recognized as a “Rising Star” for insurance coverage in the Oregon Super Lawyers® 2014–2022 lists and co-authored the “Duty to Defend, Settle, and Indemnify” chapter of the Oregon State Bar publication Insurance Law in Oregon(2020 ed.). Before focusing his practice on insurance coverage, Paul prosecuted jury trials for the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office.
